WORDS & PHOTOGRAPHY GEMMA WATTS
1.
HOT PINK MATTE LIP
Millennial pink has had its moment in the sun and now hot pink is stepping back up to the plate. No longer reserved for Barbie dolls and dress ups, hot pink lipstick has been given a modern makeover. To keep this look fresh, opt for a matte formula rather than an overtly girly gloss, and adopt our rule of thumb for any bold lip look- pare it back with a dewy complexion and minimal base makeup.
GET THE LOOK: A liquid lipstick with a matte finish will ensure your bold lips stand the test of time.

2.
FLOATING EYELINER
One of the week’s more editorial beauty looks, floating liner is an update on last year’s graphic wing. Want to make this look work for everyday? Rather than working above the crease of the eyelid, bring the line back down towards your natural lash line and keep things modern by forgoing the feline flick in favour of a more abrupt end.
GET THE LOOK: As much as we love a sexy, smokey kohl, this look lends itself to the precision of a liquid liner.

3.
FRESH SKIN
We’re firm believers that there’s no substitute for great skincare. Let your skin breathe this season by opting for sheer coverage foundations to simply even out the skin tone and only applying concealer where you really feel you need it. This season’s base is all about skin prep and enhancing your glow, rather than masking it.
GET THE LOOK: This look is all about subtly brightening the skin, so look for brightening concealers to cover blemishes without masking or mattifying.

4.
SHIMMERING EYES
Not to be confused with festival makeup, loose glitter has had an ethereal update. Rather than packing on layers of glitter, shimmering pigments were applied to the eyes and skin of models in a more intuitive way, with each model’s look appearing slightly different but all looking as those they’d been lightly sprinkled with fairy dust. The perfect look for the girl who wants to catch the light.
GET THE LOOK: Look for fine shimmers as opposed to heavy glitters, and apply sparingly.

5.
GLOSSY RED LIP
May your pink lips be matte and your red lips glossy. Glossy red lips were teamed with similarly glossy skin for a fresh take on Old Hollywood beauty. Ensure your look is more “New Hollywood” by paring back your eye makeup and keeping your hair wispy and slightly undone.
GET THE LOOK: Opt for either a gloss finish lipstick or a satin lipstick with a high-gloss topper.
