THE SECRETS TO MONOCHROMATIC DRESSING

It's an art..

Just like a piece of artwork, the outcome of monochromatic dressing is up to the individual and can be as bold or as toned down as you choose.

However, it’s not always easy to master the look,  with a few simple steps to take into consideration, but before we dive into that can we just say; wearing one colour is anything but boring!

While mixing patterns can get tricky and colour blocking a bit over-done, wearing a single shade outfit is not only simple but also incredibly striking. In fashion terms, monochromatic dressing is defined as wearing separate garments of one colour that may have different textures and/or of similar shades, for an overall tonal look.

Whether you decide to rock a head to toe neutral ensemble, or maybe an all-white get-up, monochromatic dressing is a nice break from the norm’.

Regardless of your shape or your style of clothing, a monotone outfit always looks chic and always makes a statement. And if you follow our top 3 tips for monochromatic looks, you’ll always dress to impress..

OUR THREE TOP TIPS

1.

WORK WITH DIFFERENT TEXTURES

– Whether it’s a pair of pants and top or a skirt and shirt, always try to ensure they are different textures to provide a more interesting look.

2.

KEEP IT NEUTRAL

– If you’re unsure on the whole monochromatic look, keep things neutral toned so the look isn’t as bold or in your face. A neutral colour palette – beige, khaki, tan or white – is soft yet chic!

3.

BREAK IT UP

– While the whole point of a monochromatic outfit is to be similar tones, adding an accessory that is a little out of the tonal range, even something as simple as a black or white bag, always helps to tone down the look.
