RUFFLES & FRILLS THAT NON GIRLY-GIRLS CAN HANDLE..

..sorry ladies, their won't be any of that pink, florally business here!

Now, lets get down to business. As I’m sure you’ve figured out by now, here at Base Colour we’re not one for the girly stuff. You won’t find a pink outfit in sight (or on the site for that matter).. although we do admit that TIBI had us seriously questioning our choice of dress when their pink co-ord suit (here) stole our hearts – love!!

We’re pretty simple actually (in the fashion sense!). We love a structured design – not too much happening – and minimal colour (Base Colour duh!). So on our latest visit to TNT The New Trend we were taken back a little when everything that jumped out at us featured frills and ruffles. These weren’t the everyday, girly-girl kind of styles you would expect though. We’re talking ruffles reinvented!

A black crop with serious sleeve action from Paris based designer Ellery, a simple cotton tie-up shirt from New York based designer Amur and gingham frills to the max by Caroline Constar, also New York based.

So there you have it – shock horror – you don’t have to run from the frills ladies. After they flooded the London Fashion Week Spring 18 Runways, they are out in full force and we’re all for it!

PS- on another note, while you’re at TNT checking out our new favourite frill trend, be wary of the accessories. As you can see, we couldn’t help ourselves in this department – Hello Ellery hardware, Sergio Rossi shoes and Wai Wai bag (insert love-heart eyes!).
