CELINE TRIOMPHE

Sometimes a halt in the journey is actually where it all begins..

Fashion is ever-changing, constantly moulding and reinventing the past. Whilst being timeless, there is always an element of change that is needed to move forward.

Taking inspiration from the archives of Celine’s history, Hedi Slimane has done exactly this. Restyling iconic silhouettes for the streets of a new generation. Creating a reimagined language that is globally understood and appreciated. Yet in it all, the roots remain deeply grounded, painting the timeless feeling of luxury in everything that Celine stands for.

When tapping into such a rich history, there is much to be inspired by. We travel through time as we create, view and experience fashion and in Celine’s case it all started with a car. Reintroduced by Slimane, the Triomphe logo dates back to Celine’s founder when her car broke down in front of the Arc de Triomphe and she was inspired by its sophisticated chain details.

Retro with a contemporary feel, Celine’s Folco Triomphe Canvas bag is monogramed with this very logo, bridging the past with the present. It carries the house’s iconic colours to capture the unique elegance of the Baroque style. The sleek and sophisticated look of this bag can easily be dressed up or down and be worn with delicate femininity or a masculine edge. Once again, the restyling doesn’t just stop at the designer…

From car to character, these elements have formed the DNA of Celine that have and will continue to be reimagined with the ages.

So if there is one thing to learn from this – sometimes a halt in the journey is actually where it all begins…
