4 NEW YORK FASHION WEEK STREETSTYLE STAND-OUTS

In the city that never sleeps..

New York City. You can’t help but let it capture your heart. Among the chaos, traffic and temperamental weather of late, NYFW hit the ground running.. but if you’re not up to date and need the low-down, we’ve broken down what you missed!

With a very mixed bag of trends and styles this year there were 4 that stood out to us. These included lots of colour, and lots of prints.

One of our favourite trends of all time; the blazer. This staple piece is our go-to to finish off any outfit and the fashionistas of NYC seemed to agree. Last but certainly not least, the statement shoe. There is no better way to finish off your Fashion Week look than with a pair of wow-factor shoes!

Read below for a little more on our favourite trends this New York Fashion Week..

1.

PRINTS

There is no question about it, prints never really go out of season or style. But this New York Fashion Week we’ve had a soft spot for the printed maxi. We’re not sure whether it’s the fact that it’s THAT versatile – cowboy boots and blazer appropriate in Winter or sandals in Summer  – or the fact that it’s beyond comfy. One thing is for sure, the printed maxi looks good on everyone!

2.

STATEMENT SHOES

There is no denying the shoe of the season; the Prada Flame Patent Leather Wedge. Worn by influencers such as Chiara Ferragni and Charlotte Groeneveid, this shoe has started the statement shoe craze.

Over the week, we’ve seen lots of flames, lots of colour and lots fun on our fave’s feet. Aimee Song (@songofstyle) was seen sporting a very bold pair of cowboy boots; a style to also get involved in! This trend is far from over and it’s got our vote!

3.

BLAZERS

With women power and equality surrounding us, it only seems fitting that ladies are not only wearing the pants of late (a trend we’re definitely catching onto!) but the blazer is getting an honourable mention this NYFW too.

With their masculine, oversized blazers and their high waisted, wide leg pants, ladies like Caroline Daur are dominating the suit game. Whether it be a matching suit set or an oversized blazer to finish off your look, the blazer is the perfect go-to.

4.

SORBET COLOURS

We are not normally one for colour but we support sorbet (both the colour and dessert!). From outerwear to accessories, this trend is so good you could eat it – literally! With brands like Tibi and Masur Gabriel taking on a sorbet colour palette while showcasing their latest and greatest at NYFW, this colourful trend is quickly catching on.
